Thermophysical properties at high temperature

Our research is related to steelmaking process based on thermophysical properties and thermodynamics. The techniques can be applied to other fields.

Thermophysical properties of Ge-Sb-Te
In optical discs (DVD or blu-ray) and phase change memory, the recording material undergoes high temperature. Therefore, the thermophysical properties are required for the optimal operation and the designing. Our group has been developed techniques to measure optical constants and electrical resistivity of phase change materials such as Ge₂Sb₂Te₅. Thermal conductivity of Ge-Sb-Te system has been measured by hot-strip method.
